Bryn Athyn Community Theater or BACT (pronounced "BEE-act") is a non-profit corporation established for the following purposes:
- To present a broad variety of quality entertainment which supports the standards and values of the New Church.
- To promote growth and interaction between all sectors of the community.
- To encourage the development of the various skills and interests associated with the performing arts.
- To promote within the community a greater understanding and appreciation of the performing arts.
BACT has been serving the Philadelphia region with high quality theatrical entertainment since 1981. Staffed entirely by volunteers, BACT presents two major productions a year, a Fall production in October or November, and a Spring production in May or June. Musicals and operettas usually run five performances over two weekends. Straight plays usually run three or four performances over one or two weekends. Our home theater is the fabulous Mitchell Performing Arts Center.
We hope you come audition or see a show sometime. Bryn Athyn is a very friendly church community, and we think you'll like us.
